Kelso High School Music Department

Welcome Highlanders

Welcome to Kelso School District Music's official website!

Check out the Master Calendar for upcoming events.  Congratulations to our Solo and Ensemble participants! This weekend concluded the music department’s hosting of Solo & Ensemble for SW Washington. Over two days, we had nearly 600 students compete for 30 spots at State in April. 21 KHS students qualified for state, the most from any school in our region! Of those, the following students won their categories and are guaranteed a performance at State in April.

Elliot Rascon

Parks Chennault

“The Wave”, made up of Bug Scrichfield, Zoe Spreadborough, Isaac Lopez, Camren Mattison, Alexa Rasmussen, Kyla Pedersen, and Ashlynn Droke

We’ll find out how many more of our students get invited to State in the coming weeks. Our alternates are Aiden Sutherland, Jax Nelson, Aidan Haglund, Bug Scrichfield (for their solo), Zoe Spreadborough, Elliot and Bug’s duet, the KHS Flute Quintet, the KHS Chamber Orchestra, McSassy Pants, and Maya Buck.

The mission of the Kelso High School Performing Arts Department is to enhance the lives of Kelso students through quality musical and theatre experiences, diverse repertoire, high caliber performances within and outside of the Kelso community, and valuable life lessons that help them transition to productive lives after high school. Through the collaboration and intentionality of the teachers, every student feels challenged, enriched, and welcome in G Hall.
